| Over the years Pastor Bob and Claudia
have seen the development of ministries both locally and outreaches
globally.
- Prayer and worship is a big part of the life of the church.
- Home Fellowship groups have developed, along with an active
Christian Education program on Sunday mornings for adults and
youth alike.
- The church is also home to Elisha School of Ministry, a Bible
Institute training people for part and full time ministry.
- Outreaches to children include Sunday morning Children's Church
and an annual Vacation Bible School that attracts hundreds of
children.
- Seeking God's face is a strong emphasis of the church.
- A Prayer Ministry Team serves alongside the Pastors and Elders.
- CLA's youth department has a growing vision for reaching their
community.
- Weekly activities include Wednesday night worship services for
Jr. High and Senior High, Fellowship Groups and Sunday school.
- The young people also are involved in annual retreats and local
outreaches.
- Regular foreign missions activities are a big part of training
youth for Christian service.
- A recent development of the Youth Department is 'The Edge'.
This major event occurs twice a month featuring
skateboard ramps, basketball, video games, bungee runs and other
interactive activities for the youth centered around a strong
evangelistic preaching service.
The church also includes more traditional Programs such as Men's
and Women's Ministries, scouting type programs for the boys and
girls, and a fellowship for the seniors.
From its inception the church has had a heart for missions. Besides
supporting many missionaries it has also raised up and released
from its ranks ministries that are touching the world. One such
ministry that was founded 8 years ago by CLA is Project Compassion.
This medical missions outreach takes teams of doctors and nurses
to third world countries to hold clinics and share Christ.
Pastor Maddux sees the church continuing to be a place of prayer
and Christian worship built around strong teaching
from the Word. His prayer and heart is for the congregation to focus
and reach out to the needs of people in the
community as well as around the world. He desires is to see those
who God has called here develop and be used to their full potential
in whatever field or endeavor God has called them to. Some of these
emerging ministers will be the more traditional types and others
"cutting edge" projects like Internet and media outreaches.
He also hopes to see an icrease in the churches worldwide humanitarian
efforts. These outreaches would provide an additional platform for
sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
